Description
During the drought in California, bears came down to lower elevations in search of food.
Their size of this particular bear, can be determined by the straddle he has over this large river boulder. In addition, you can measure the size of its claw by measuring the oak leaves as a comparison. His nost is also easily compared to the small oak tree which has grown up from an acorn buried by some bird.
This one, dug for acorns which had dropped from huge Oak trees. In this photo, you can see how large their paws are and how deadly, those massive bear claws can be if provoked!
Generally, Brown Bears are not aggressive, but when provoked, sick, injured, or hungry, they can do severe damage.
