Description
A day trip to the Central California Coast provided a wide variety of birds and animals to photograph. As we would our way down the road to the lake, we saw this "thing" on top of the hillside. From far away, it looked like a log sticking up in the hillside. There was no movement. Yet, as we drove closer, it was a heron sitting as still as it could...only its feathers moved in the wind. Looking through the lens, his beak pointed skyward, as if waiting for the wind to bring it some food.
