Description
A succulent is a plant with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. This delicate gray-green succulent hangs in a basket in the back yard.. It's soft texture makes it a beautiful addition in the yard. One reason I like it, is that if a parts breaks off, all I do is take it and put it right back in the pot, and it roots, and continues growing.
It is important to remember that nearly all cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti. By definition, succulent plants are drought resistant plants in which the leaves, stem, or roots have become more than usually fleshy by the development of water-storing tissue.
