Description
The cattle Spring Roundup in the back country is exciting. Cattle ranchers move their herds from one pasture to another. Sometimes, they take them to market. Other times, they take the cows to the fenced in areas until they calve. While I have never seen it before, this was my chance of a lifetime.
My friend and I had gone to the country to view the beautiful colors of Spring in the country. A sign ahead let us know that there was a Speed and curve sign indicating that 40 miles per hour was the fastest speed to negotiate the curve on this delightful wild flowered covered country road. The Wildflowers were spectacular...beauty was all over the hillsides.
We were on the way home; we came across the tail end of a roundup. One Cowboy rode the front of the herd with plenty of berth to warn oncoming traffic of the oncoming roundup, and three other Cowboys rode at the end of the herd along with the four working dogs. Most of the cows were compliant, and those that were not, were quickly put in line by those dogs...words cannot express the beauty of working dogs caring for the herd.
Today was a day filled with action - however, the herd didn't seem to adhere the Speed sign nor care whether there was a curve or not in the road!

Lol ... made me smile. They'd probably get a ticket for going too slow. Great shot, Debby. L/fv
