Description
This beautiful giant dahlia, in my front yard, are well over 5 feet tall and blooming with grandeur. At first glance, this one appears to be rebelling at letting the center of this flower complete the blooming process. The final petals appear to be hesitant to straighten out to allow the center yellow and green to complete the total blooming process. Yet, nature will have its way, and the center of the bloom will open with splendor.
I made a sobering analogy - this flower is so much like the parent who is sending their child to college. The empty nest is beginning to becoming reality and the pain hurts. They want to hold on…at least have their fingertips touch…but alas…the nest will remain one child less as University is the beginning of a new life for the child who has transitioned into adulthood.

Sensational beauty Debby. I love the light and shadows interacting with the streaks of colors and hot center.
