Description
Tending to his territory, this male Annas hummingbird sits, waiting to ambush anything which would enter into his territory to eat, rest, sun...even to me changing the feeders! However, this one, I guess I will name Ambush, has discovered that he can sit low among the thorns and wait for invaders to come. Then, with a quick burst of speed, Ambush will swoop in and take on the 'enemy'. Hummingbirds can be quite aggressive, and Ambush has taken on two new male Annas hummingbird, and also a Yellow Warbler and several sparrows. He fears nothing...if Ambush can sit on the thorns of the rose bush, he truly fears nothing!
