Description

I love photographing Hummingbirds. This male Anna sat on this Sago Palm, his little feet grasping the frond for quite some time - well, off and on. He fiercely protected his territory and his feeders, flower bushes, and living quarters. Once the temperature became too hot to fight, he flies to the neighbors's tree across the street...always watching for any bird who would come to his territory. Though you cannot see his neck ring, he has a beautiful white ring around his neck. His iridescent feathers atop his head and neck catch the sunlight, but when the feathers catch the full sun, his beautiful red head and neck are truly amazing. I have named his White Neck. He is new to my home garden, and a beautiful addition.
