Description
This very unusual moth, the name of which is unknown to me, landed on the vinca hanging basket. It landed on the white flowers and was so different looking that I had to capture it. It's bulging eyes and wayward antennae pale to its beautiful wing patterns. It appears to be wearing a 4 tiered skirt of furry finged material with very pale circular eyes on each side. This was very different from the skipper months which we see frequently in our yard. The only item that was more unuaual was the black specks on the pretty white petals of the vinca. This was from the ash that fell from the sky from the surroundings wild fires.
