El Moro National Park is about 30 miles off Interstate 40, Route 66, in New Mexico.
*A must–see! If you only have an hour or less, you will definitely want to take the trail to the pool and past hundreds of Spanish and Anglo inscriptions, as well as pre–historical petroglyphs. It will be easy to see why El Morro was proclaimed a National Monument. *El Moro National Park
As men and women travelled from the Easst to seek out fame and fortune in the 'Wild West', or the Spanish coming from the South exploring North America, many stopped at a natural watering hole to rest and refresh themselves before further travel. Many left their names and the year in which they travelled, giving us a clever insight into the history of the West!
