Artist's Description
With Cars zipping by on the freeway right next to the pole, this hawk sat and watched for prey that it might have a tasty morsel of food for lunch. There were plenty of squirrels and other rodents nearby, so this hawk had plenty of food from which to choose.

About Debby Pueschel
Thank you for visiting my galleries. You will find a variety of collections from which to browse. Sit back and enjoy visiting areas you have never visited, or remembering times when you had the chance to visit places in my gallery. Memories are such a great tool! Photography is my love! Whether it be photographing my grandchildren, my hummingbirds in the yard, places we have travelled, or taking photos of people who have given of their time and effort to help others, it matters not......photo documentation is my passion! My photography began with capturing hummingbirds...little did I realize this is quite a feat to capture these creatures, so small and fast. Yet, I waited and befriended this who were less afraid of humans. I talk to...

I often see hawks circling over the highway! Perhaps small mice, etc. get stranded there and are easy to catch? l/f
Debby Pueschel replied:
Hawks are not too difficult if you can follow along with the flight. They are very skittish and spook easily. This little hawk, and I have to admit, am not certain which one it is, was just sitting on a pole next to the freeway. My husband and I were getting into the car when I spotted this little guy. He sat on the pole allowing us to come quite close to capture him. On the whole, once you know how to approach birds, they will not be bothered unless you break a twig! Thank you for stopping by!
