Description
This pretty little Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele), to the best of my knowledge, was spotted as I sat on a rock in Tuolumne Meadow in Yosemite National Park. What fun it was to see this little butterfly sip nectar from this pretty wild flower. With black tip wings and a white fringe, its little black spots against the orange made me smile as it flitted from place to place. These little guys feast on nectar from many species of flowers including milkweeds, thistles, ironweed, dogbane, mountain laurel, verbena, vetch, bergamot, red clover, poke weed, and purple coneflower.
Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that we can become a new creature in Christ just as the Butterfly is first an egg, then a caterpillar, and then a beautiful butterfly. How blessed we are to become different creatures in Christ.

Perfect pairing of image and Scripture, Debby (but I've also learned that there are no coincidences). Well done. - Mike (V/F)
