Dinner time on the field grasses is just a delight for these massive Bison with their dark brown heads and shaggy coats, on a private field in Thermopolis, Wyoming. This is a small herd that roams freely and protected from poachers. Massive animals, with horns that are impressive looking, they look ever so gentle but one must remember they are indeed wild and to get near them is foolish. Serious injury or even death could be the result. So just admiring them from a distance is enough ponder what the early Indigenous peoples and later, the Pioneers seeking life in the West, witnessed, when these amazing beasts would pound the earth as they ran the plains freely. One can only imagine!
