Description
100 years ago, 1919, a wonderful family donated a magnificent Wurlirtzer Pipe Organ to the choir loft of our mission style Catholic church. Such a beauatiful organ, now replaced by the electronic organ which dominates the music of the Sunday Masses.
This photo is an upward view from the floor of the balcony of the curvature of the organ with the pipes raised high above the organ, framing the rose window of the Blessed Mother.
Yet, nothing can take the place of the most beautiful Rose Window, of the Blessed Mother, looking down on the entire church. When playing, it is amazing to look up at the beautiful stained glass window, and gaze on the face of the Mother of God.
Will this organ last forever? As long as those of us who love the sound of a traditional pipe organ....a resonding YES!!! With age, one day, there will be the passing of this iconic part of our church's past. But for now, we are thrilled to play it on occasion at church prayer services.
