Description
A stop at the bank recently yielded a photo of this pretty Foxtail Agave. We live in an arid and dry area in California. During the drought, many businesses landscaped with rocks and water tolerant plants. The Foxtail Agave is one such plant. Known also as Lions tail and Swan’s tail is native to Central Mexico. It thrives best in shaded areas with indirect light. These are a type of succulent plant, green year round. These plants like warm and dry environments and have an adaptable growth temperature of 59-77 degrees F. At night it grows best at temps from 50-60 degrees. A cold and dry winter benefitis its reproduction, but needs to be above 40 degrees
