Description
A short drive west of Williams, Arizona, is a wonderful canyou called Sycamore Canyon. This photo, framed with a prickly pear cactus and huge rock formations, is on the rim of Sycamore Canyon. Below, you can see Autumn Cottonwood trees, which line the ancient river bed that traveresses the floor of this second “Grand Canyon”. Grasses and trees line this beautiful canyon. Rock formations of all shapes and sizes show how once this massive canyon was carved out by wind, rain, and ancient ice plates millions of years ago. Now, we are left with a magnificent canyon…simple beauty.
Unfortunately, the river runs no more…civilization has encroached on the waters, diverting them to the people of the cities. Now we are left with an amazing view of an incredible canyon, rarely visited by travelers.
