Imagine no busses, boats, cars, people running freely across the bridge, boats in the water, tourists, as they are carted throughout the waters...just imagine leaving out those items, and you will see what the bridge looked like the day it was finished and the group of archetechs jumped for joy at the official opening of the Golden Gate in1937. Their joy must have been insurmountable..such joy at making the longest suspension bridge at that time...truly a work of art!
