Description
Under the watchful eye of the herding dog, these goats are well protected from harm by their guard dog. Sheep and goats roam the the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, free range, pinion trees, sage, and grasses. The long coat is sheered in the spring to be used for weaving and for sale for income.
Only the fences keep them away from the roads...however, not even the fences always keep them in. Generally, though, as it is said - the grass is greener on the other side and they do stray into the side of the road. Stubborn, they just do what they want to do!
