Description
Little Hummingbird is so amazing. A young Anna Hummingbird perched itself upon the top of this new Rose Bud one Spring. The weight of this little one does not even phase the growth of the new rose bud that is just now forming to become a beautiful white rose like the ones in the left corner. The blue sky sets off the red of the bud and the white below. Hummingbirds weight less than one penny and are so light that they do not damage anything they sit on.
However I will say that persimmon growers do grow irritated because hummingbirds DO suck the sweet juices out of the fruit, damaging them for any sale. I was fortunate enough to capture one and was shocked at this sweet little bird doing such damage!
Sitting atop the tip top, this little hummer has a perfect view to see any oncoming birds . My hunch is that this is a very young male as it has many colorful dots of feathers. Therefore he is waiting to attemptinig to mark his territory by warding off any unwanted birds!
